'core product file(s) have been modified....'


Can anyone tell me the significance of the following error message on Norton Utilities start-up?

'core product file(s) have been modified. Please run smart update or re-install the product.'

...so I did both.

Smart update says the product is up-to-date.

On completely uninstalling the product and re-starting and re-installing, I get the same message on start-up!

Any ideas, please?

It is a known issue and Symantec are working on a fix.  Until then clicking OK or the X to close that window will allow NU to work normally.
