"Core Product . . ." Problem

Recently I have been getting the following error message: "Core Product files(s) have been modified.  Please run Smart Update or reinstall the product".  Smart update says I am up to date and ignoring the message doesn't seem to do any harm (?).  It is annoying though.  A search of past messages revealed that this problem was detected and fixed at least a year ago with version 16.0.1.7  and I am running version  21.6.0.32

Two questions: Is this a real problem that I should be concerned about  and how to I get rid of the messages.

Thanks

Re: "Core Product . . ." Problem

Hi,
Do you have any other Norton product (other than N360) installed in your machine?
It seems its related to Norton Utilities.

Re: "Core Product . . ." Problem

Thanks for the help:

There is a copy of Norton Utilities (part of the 2013 package that was replaced by current version) that appears to be installed but is not an active process.  Also, looking through task manager reveals that there are two Norton 360 processes active.  One has Owner as user name and the other has System.

Re: "Core Product . . ." Problem

Two processes per Norton product is normal ~ one for System one for user.
If you have more than one Norton product there will be more Norton processes.

Re: "Core Product . . ." Problem

This is a known issue that will be fixed in an upcoming update. You can still use the product by clicking OK at the message.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
