Could not load kernel extension (El Capitan)

Each time I try to start antivirus (or reboot) I get the error,

AntiVirus Auto-Protect could not load the kernel extension

I am running the Comcast version.

Did you see the exact info box as shown below?

If so, this page (if U are running Norton AntiVirus 12+ or Norton Internet Security 5+) and/or this one (if you're using Norton AntiVirus 11 for Mac or newer ) would help U out.

To sum up my comment, try the below routine:

uninstall -> restart -> reinstall -> update -> restart.

Re-download your Norton product from your Comcast account; and re-activate your Norton Protection using the product key in your Comcast ID. And please remember to upgrade your Norton app to its latest version by running LiveUpdate for Mac.

Thanks. In the meantime, a new version of Norton Security was downloaded by my Mac, and the old one uninstalled and the new version installed. That solved the problem.
