A couple of issues...
I am really trying to like the Core, but various issues are making it hard. Right now my two biggest issues (beyond not being able to set static IPs) are as follows: (1) I run a Plex Media Server which is accessed at home via ethernet and wireless on my local network . I have a port forwarding rule set for my computer running the server and Plex indicates that it is fully accessible. The problem is that sometimes connections (at home) cannot be made to the server, which makes Plex then run in "relayed connection" (which is indirect, slow, and limited). Since I sometimes can connect directly, my best guess is that once one local network device connects to the server, the Core router is not allowing any other devices to connect (which then result in crappy relayed connections). Any ideas? Anyone else running a Plex Media Server without such problems? (2) I have three Chromebooks and one Chromebox at my house. All four devices are connected wirelessly through the Core. However, none of them show up in the Norton Core iOS app. They are simply not listed/displayed even though the Core seems to be allowing them to connect/work properly. Besides being a strange bug... it means that I cannot manage the content or place time restrictions on any of these devices (and three belong to my kids). One other strange bug/issue with the Norton Core iOS app - Several of my devices, like my wireless printer and Nest thermostats, show in the app but by "IP Address" always show "Identifying" even though they are already connected/have been assigned IP addresses by the Core... In other words, the iOS app is not ever displaying their assigned IP addresses. Thanks for any advice/solutions!
