Daily Error 3047,53

I am using Norton Security Premium on Windows 10 Home. I am getting a 3047,53 error. I have updated many times and have even uninstalled and re-installed 4 times and still receive the error. It goes RED and says FIX NOW. Advanced shows auto-protect, sonar, email protection  and download intelleigence is OFF. It then downloads  a 75MB file and fails on update. I reboot and re-run live update, FIX NOW...and it will run fine until the next day when I turn it back on.

A shot in the dark - have you verified your system time and date are correct?

Also do you have Fast Start disabled?

My date and time are current, but fast startup does not show up as an option

Re: Daily Error 3047,53

Robb your fast startup is located in the system power settings.

Re: Daily Error 3047,53

If you have hibernate disabled on your system you will not see the Fast Startup option. So it will not be active.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Re: Daily Error 3047,53

I have turned on Fast Startup, my clock is correct and I in-installed Norton Security. I used Norton Removal Tool and even ran Registry First Aid to remove "any" Norton files. I then re-installed Norton Security & Backup. But, it does not appear to have fixed my problem. I am starting to believe I will have to clean install Windows 10 and start all over just to fix this problem...I hope not.

I have turned on Fast Startup,

We are suggesting turning it OFF.

Then restart your computer. Then run LiveUpdate manually a few times, restarting as necessary, until no updates are available. Then restart once more and test.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Re: Daily Error 3047,53

I meant to say...realizing that I had disabled Hibernation a few months back, I enabled it and then I had the option of Fast Start available to me once again. I did turn it "OFF". I turned OFF every item in my Startup Folder. I un-installed Norton, ran RFA to clean all traces of Norton. I downloaded and re-installed Norton. I rebooted and ran Live Update. The next time I rebooted I once again received a RED Fix Now status. I clicked Fix Now and it did fix it...only until I rebooted and there it was...Back AGAIN. Any assistance with this issue is very much appreciated.

Re: Daily Error 3047,53

Robb one thing in your last post puts red flags all over your issue. You stated that you ran RFA, which I assume to be "Registry First Aid" and cleaned your system registry. I have used RFA for many years UNTIL Windows 10 came along. At which time I stopped using any registry cleaning software due to RFA inadvertently removed root registry keys causing installs to become deactivated. Personally I think your having ran RFA has caused your system to become unstable.

Being that you are on Windows 10 let me recommend performing a system REFRESH. Doing a refresh should give you the option to keep your files however I would back them up first. As well as have access to the programs you will have to reinstall and their respective activation codes. You can download a small program named "Belarc" which is free. It will create a HTML file in your browser which you can then save to a flash drive and it will contain all your software installation keys within that file. I have had to do this for many of my customers locally when their systems became borked to the point of no return and there wasn't any other choice.

https://www.belarc.com/products_belarc_advisor

Once the system refresh is complete login to your Norton account on the Norton website and download your product from there. DO NOT run live update until you have rebooted at least once after your product is activated. Once rebooted then run live update until no updates are available and reboot yet again. Run live update once again and check all your settings in Norton to your desired config. This has been my boilerplate for destitute systems and works wonderfully. Let us know if this helped please.

Re: Daily Error 3047,53

I "bit the bullet" and formatted my drive and did a complete re-installation of all my drivers and software. I'll see what transpires over the next couple of days. I hope this has taken care of the situation. Time will tell...

Re: Daily Error 3047,53

Formatting my SSD and re-installing Windows 10, all drivers and all my applications software has, as expected, solved my problems. Registry First Aid did NOT cause my problem, as I ran it only after I was unable to correct the error with Norton. I did try "SFC /scannow" and it did report corrupted files that it claims to have fixed. I had planned on a "Clean" install of the Fall Creators Update, so it was not a wasted effort. Thanks to all who offered suggestions.
