I have a problem with Norton 360. When I try to Backup my data files it appears to work fine until it reaches the following file: c:\Program Files\Windows Apps\King.com.CandyCrushSaga_.................  

At that point it either keeps recycling or backs up an enormous amount of files. I had to cancel the backup to stop it.  I tried again and the same happened after I adjusted the files to be downloaded to only basic files.  App files are not included in my selection.

When I tried to delete the problem file I am denied access.

Is it a virus? hopefully there is a simple solution.

Hello Darrel Kumnick and welcome!

I think the problem you are experiencing is because by default, Norton 360/NSBU excludes the following folders from the backup:

  • C:\Program Files\
  • C:\ProgramData\
  • C:\Users\Public\Music\Sample Music\
  • C:\Users\Public\Pictures\Sample Pictures\
  • C:\Users\Public\Videos\Sample Videos\

It is my understanding that even if you add these system folders manually to the backup set, Norton 360/NSBU will ignore their inclusion during the backup process.

Can you try the backup without including any of these paths and let us know the outcome?

As far as the problem with deleting the problem file, where is the backup destination?  To an external hard drive or Norton Secure Online Storage?  What method are you using to delete the file?

Thanks for responding.

I have solved the problem by deleting the App: Candy Crush Saga, something I would never use anyhow.

I would now like to end or delete this thread. Is that necessary, if so ,how?

I am new to forums as you can probably notice.
