dashboard date is always one day behind

For example Liveupdate ran today, 3/20 and says I have all updates, but the dashboard has 3/19/2015.

my computer clock and date are correct.

windows vista SP02 fully up to date.

Norton security with backup 22.1.0.9

I have had trouble with Liveupdate working for 4-5 automatic times and then failing. Restart restores operation for 4-5 automatic tries and then stops. always with the "unable to connect to server" error.

I ran autofix. It found something. the subject was "installation" and the result was "sucess", restarted, and ran full system scan with nothing found.

It may be ok, won't know until later tonite. but I would really like to know if it is normal for the dashboard to be one day behind.

Re: dashboard date is always one day behind

Seems I recollect this same observation being made during the product's Public Beta testing phases last year.  However I don't recall a definitive reason as to why ever being proffered...

Hello

I think it has something to do with when you finished installing the product.  For example, I think we finished with the installation around 3 PM. It's about 2:30 PM here now and it's dated 3/19. The next idle quick scan that will run after 3 PM, I think will make the antivirus updates up to date and it will say current. That current will indicate that it is today's date which is 3/20/15. I don't think I have ever looked at the date though after midnight to see if it then shows it's behind date again or not.. Btw, this is just my idea.

Success always occurs in private and failure in full view. Windows 7 Pro 64 bit NSBU 22.17.0.183 Core Firmware 270 I E 11 Chrome latest one

Re: dashboard date is always one day behind

Hi Flo,

Your idea certainly sounds as good as any I can think of offhand... My "theory on the mater" involves geographic location, thinking one's location relative to prime-meridian or possibly to the dateline is the reason, but it certainly could just as easily be related to local postmeridian / anti-meridian relationships (perhaps it's actually due to a combination of the three). It would be interesting (maybe less confusing) if the info was presented in UTC/GMT, since basically, these updates go out globally (to all places that use them) essentially at the same originating time - I presume therefore, the perceived incongruity regarding the local GUI's reported date.

Cheers!

Re: dashboard date is always one day behind

To follow up. Norton seemed ok, but also my hard drive kept churning all day. So i restarted the computer and NSWB came up with the dreaded red x through the logo. Everything was disabled! So clicked on fix. It spent quite some time, but finally had a green "all fixed" screen. Restarted the machine and interestingly, now the dashboard says CURRENT. no date. It has never said CURRENT. Harddrive is calm now, and so am I. I would really like to keep this, but if the high maintenance continues, it will have to go.
