Dashlane - what is it?

For some reason Dashlane Password manager has taken over my PC? It has taken over my browser home page, I keep getting popups and I can't figure out where it came from. One time I think I saw the name Norton on one of the pages, is this a Norton product? I've clicked on I'm not interested, but the popups keep coming up. I don't think it is malware, and nothing has shown up on any scans, but it is a nuisance. Any information on Dashlane?

Dashlane is a legitimate software which is a password manager. Dashlane is not a spam or a malware but a legitimate security solution for Identity management. Its like Lastpass or 1Password or Norton Identity safe. Dashlane has been reviewed by various tech forums and magazines likes PCmag, https://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2461280,00.asp

etc.
The reason probably it pops up everytime is whenever you go to a site with login, Dashlane identifies the userId/password field and prompts you to use it and save the credentials.
So there is nothing to worry about. if you don't want it just uninstall it. Simple.
Declaimer: I do not work for or in any way affiliated to Dashlane.
