Dealing with Symantec on CVV is a waste

Watch, I will be made the bad guy because Symantec pulled a feature that made us use the product in the first place.  How does it even make sense what they did.  Could have simply added a pop-up  to view the CVV field, make it an option to have it or not, etc.  Completely annoyed.

Your links  to threads on this issue show you have already researched the issue on the forums.

I cannot really add anything else to this thread that has not been posted already. Norton removed the field for the security of the merchants and card issuers.

Rather than trusting online merchants to keep your credit card information secure, shouldn't everyone instead be using something like a ShopSafe one-time-use credit card number and CVV, with a short expiration date and a spending limit, for every transaction?  Yep, you have to go to your bank's website and create a new number and then enter it and the new CVV on the merchant's site every time, but if the online store's database is ever breached, your credit card information on file will be worthless to the hackers.
