Doing Daily reinstalls on Windows 7 Pro

Starting three days ago, Norton Internet Security stopped starting when my wife's computer (Lenovo Thinkpad, Windows 7 Pro) was booted. No error message, it just wouldn't start. Fixing the problem each morning requires a full removal and reinstall. She shuts down at end of day and the scenario must be repeated the next morning. She is a light user and has installed no new software in over a year. Any tips on what to look for will be appreciated. For info, my computer is identical to hers and I do not have the problem. Hi dskirk,

There have been problems in the past with Rapid Reboot and Rapid Restart functions on Lenovo products  causing Norton not to start.  I though Lenovo had removed that function - but may have put it back - so please check to see if you have Rapid Reboot installed on your Thinkpad and if so, disable it for testing purposes.

Let us know what you find out.

Thanks for sharing that. I'll keep a note on that. As it turns out, I did reach a Norton rep who presumably fixed the problem by replacing a display driver. I never ever would have guessed that. I've powered down and restarted and the PC worked perfectly the first time this week. I'm considering the problem solved, but I'm still puzzled at the solution. Definitely over my head.

Mine has suddenly done this twice now, again today 24th March, and icon did not appear as normal or shortcut could not open Norton security, although in Services it is running, only way to get it to appear and open Norton is to log off and shutdown then boot up again v22.6.0.142
