Easily disable Norton Family-Android

I recently discovered a way to remove Norton Family from an Android device.

First, under Settings/More/Application Manager/Norton Family click "MOVE TO SD CARD."

Second, under Settings/More/Storage click "Unmount SD Card."

Norton Family is completely removed without needing any password or needing to uninstall it.

Re: Easily disable Norton Family-Android

Yeah, that's a non answer.

The issue isn't installing the app, it's removing the app physically. When the app is on the SD Card. All the child needs to do is physically open the phone, remove the SD Card, then wala! No more app.

Hi cjestrada87,

After Norton Family is removed, do you, as the parent, receive any alert notification by email or in your Norton Family online account?

Re: Easily disable Norton Family-Android

No. The I've been thinking about it. And I think the reason is because the app is all on the sd drive. When the drive is removed, any trigger that would have been activated was removed with the SD card.

I do know that Android does allow it's developers prevent apps from transferring to SD Cards. You find it in apps like Microsoft OneNote. If I went into settings, the option for transferring to SD card is greyed out.

Hi cjestrada87,

Have you tried these steps? After you click on the link below, please Hit Enter key again.  For some strange reason, the link doesn't bring users to the page directly.   You should see the page with title "Things you should do for parental supervision on Android 5.0 devices"

Re: Easily disable Norton Family-Android

Which steps? Downloading the app? Yes. Turning on accessibility, yes. The app works, and cannot be disabled using conventional methods. End task won't turn it off.

I think that's the same answer you gave me before.

Yes.  It's the same link, but while I was checking on this, I noticed the link doesn't bring you to the page with title "Things you should do for parental supervision on Android 5.0 devices"

Re: Easily disable Norton Family-Android

I did a search and found it. I don't think that will work. The device is not a tablet but an galaxy S4. So non of the options it is listing are available on the device. There is no way for me to make separate user accounts for the phone.
