Hi,
Before I call it a malfunction I'd want confirmation that it is a valid Norton 'nag'. Then I might go in and turn off all of the placeswhere I'm allowed to turn off notifications and I might even take myself off the automatic renewal feature.

I think that the only way you can get notifications like that is to be running tow different subscription products that expire at about the same time and are on automatic renewal. If this is the case then you may have to do most of the steps outlined above twice

Keep us posted

Hi Rainbow,

Each time a forum member makes a reply to a thread you're subscribed to, you will get an email. See that your settings are set right for your email subscriptions. Click My Settings at the top of any forum page. Then Subscriptions & Bookmarks. Next to Email Content, enable Subject and Body. If you have Subject Only enabled, and 5 people make replies in a short period of time in that same thread, it will look like you're getting duplicate emails.

Set the rest of the settings in the list the way you wish, then be sure to click Save at the bottom.

There is more information here ...  Never Miss A Reply To Your Issue

Hi Dick and Ed,

Thanks for the suggestions, I mean to follow them one by one, to see which one works.

I started with deleting the email subscriptions for those threads I’m getting the double notification.

Will come back asap with the outcome.

Until then, thanks again.

Rainbow,

Note also that one of the options is to ignore (or not) when you post in a thread you are subscribed to.

Re: Email Notifying There is 1 Update for my Norton Community Subscriptions

Hi Dick, Ed and Hugh,

Problem solved! Since I deleted the subscriptions three days days ago, I haven’t received the double notification anymore.

Practically (now I know it!), when I posted in a thread I was already subscribed to I should have uncheck the “Email me when someone replies" option before posting my reply, or go to my subscriptions and delete the one for that thread, which I didn’t, thus the double notification (my malfunction...).

Ed,  you say “…Next to Email Content, enable Subject and Body. If you have Subject Only…”

I had  “default” (Subject Only) enabled from the beginning, I see what you mean but when there were more replies in a short period of time I could see from the “Author” and the “Date/Hour” whether or not they were about the same "New Reply". However I did follow your suggestion and changed it to “Subject and Body”, which now allows me to read the message without having necessarily to go to the thread, sometimes useless, unless I want to reply straightaway. Another good tip, thanks, for the link as well!

Now I’ll mark this thread as solved, and since I’m allowed to mark one reply only, I’ll mark the reply which arrived first…

Thanks again,

Laura

Re: Email Notifying There is 1 Update for my Norton Community Subscriptions

How do I stop receiving emails re 1 Update for my Norton Community Subscription? My issue was solved.  I went to My Settings and the box marked "automatcially subscribe me to topics I participate" is NOT checked.  Am I missing something?  What else should I be doing to stop these emails?

Thanks!

Re: Email Notifying There is 1 Update for my Norton Community Subscriptions

Go to the thread that you wish to stop notifications and click on Topic Options at the top left. Then click Unsubscribe. This will stop the email notifications.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
