Emergency Alert - System overload popup message

I received this message once yesterday and again this afternoon.  The message reads; "Emergency Alert - System overload: Windows as detected an unusual activity that might damage your hardware and data."  I did not “click for support” as I was not sure if this was a legitimate message. The link below click for support is "cloudservice.live"  Has anyone had any experience/feedback on this?

Re: Emergency Alert - System overload popup message

This sounds like a scam that gets displayed from a malicious ad on a site you are visiting. The best way to stop those is to disable Javascript in your browser, and or install an ad blocker extension in your browser.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

As Peter says, Classic scam approach

Glad you did not click on anything -- you can usually exit a situation you are unhappy about, without clicking on anything, not even No Thanks, by using the keys ALT + F4 at the same time.

Internet Explorer (I don't know about other browsers) has a toolbar called Status Bar that you can activate by right clicking on the menu bar at the top. The Status Bar shows up at the bottom of the screen and if you just hold your pointer over an active link without clicking it shows you the complete URL behind the active link which can often show you spoof links ....
