Error During Scanning Problem

Hello

I have a problem, I updated both my Norton and Windows software recently and when I tried to do a full system scan a message came "Error During Scan", I tried Quick scan and scan a number of folders and the same error message appears. Last time I did a scan was before the Ransomware virus. 

Software: Norton Internet Security.

PC OS: Windows 10, 64-bit, latest update.

Hi FFM,

Probably not much help, but have you tried  Settings > Help > Get Support?  Let it run and see if it corrects anything on your installation - or perhaps responds with an error.

I would try a remove and replace of your NIS. You can use the Remove and Reinstall Tool. Please read the directions and also remember to run Live Update a few times and restart when requested until you get no further updates. After finished with updates, restart one final time.

Thanks for all the help, I solved my issue.

From an old thread it seems that I needed to boot my computer on safe mode and try scanning from there first before I take any drastic measures like uninstalling the software.

I rebooted my Windows 10 on safe mode after I updated it, scanned the computer successfully, rebooted on normal condition again and tried both quick scan and Complete System scan on both are now working fine.
