ERROR MESSAGES INTERNET STOPPED WORKING!!!!

Problems currently with an error message of "Internet Explorer has stopped working" and then losses the internet connect?  This problem has not plagued my computer before?  Could this be a virus or is Norton not working properly?

Re: ERROR MESSAGES INTERNET STOPPED WORKING!!!!

To get you the best advice, would you give us some more information about your system:

What version of Windows are you using including Service Packs and whether 32 bit or 64 bit as well as the Name and Version ID of the Norton product that you are using -- Help or Support / About is where that is, in the format of nn.nn.nn.nnn

If you have the COMCAST version of Norton 360 / Security Suite and not the normal commercial version please be sure to tell us.

If you get any error messages please give the exact wording of them as well as any other background that could be helpful.

Please also say what internet browser you are using -- name and version number ...

Have you run a full system check with whatever Norton you have?

Is the Internet connection not working for anything or just for Norton -- is it dead or just slow? I presume you have more thaqn one PC since you have reached us?! <s>

This can be caused by many many things. I would start with a review of your OS event logs. Do you see messages in the logs pertaining to DHCP? Do you get your IP addresses via DHCP or do you have an assigned static IP address?
