Facebook Protect problem

Hi, I got a message that if I didn't enable Facebook protect by Dec 3 I would be locked out.  I went into my facebook settings to try and enable it.  When I got to the screen where it asks me to enter my password I looked it up in Password Manager but it was an incorrect password.  Somehow I think my Facebook account is linked to accounts.google ??  I tried that password also but that didn't work either.  Can anyone help? I don't want to get locked out of Facebook

Thanks

Re: Facebook Protect problem

Hello Scott. First and most important is, if  the message DID NOT come from "security@facebookmail.com" it is fake. Here is a bit of information for you: https://www.facebook.com/help/1052552578831700

It appears that FB is throttling the new feature and its going to users they deem needing better and stricter account protections. I would enable 2FA authentication until such time the feature allows you to complete the setup. If you must, change your password.
