Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Norton AntiVirus\NortonData\21.1.0.18\Definitions\IPSDefs\20150220.001\IPSEng32.dll

After receiving latest Norton updates IE stopped working. IE displays messahe box "Internet Explorer has stopped working."

Windows Event Viewer logs show:

Installed latest Windows 7 updates, Norton Live Update, and reset IE setting back to default. No help. Contacted Norton Support:

"Okay, thank you for reporting this. Our engineering team has already identified the issue and they're already investigating on this. It will be fixed soon. Please try again within 24 hours. In the meantime, you can also use another browser."

Just a heads up in case anyone else is getting this.

Seeing the same problem as of this evening.  Remove Norton and it works.  Reinstall Norton and it works.  Update Norton and the crash comes back.

Hopefully it is fixed soon.  This should have been tested better before sending out.

I am also getting this, and it's so frustrating.  I certainly hope they have a fix very soon.

It started happening in IE the moment todays IPSDefs were installed.

Norton must pull out the update to its IPS ASAP and must keep away from sending/pushing updates without compatibility testing. SYMC is now using its own users as testers, Which is un-acceptable. If you guys need reliable testers, employ them or find suitable volunteers . NOT REGULAR USERS! And if you can't keep quality, stop the process!

I also had the fault with IE 11 crashing this morning after the computer had been on about half an hour or so and presumably Norton 360 had by then done an update. Tried turning IE off and then on several times, tried internet options reset and still did not correct fault. Took advice from reading through some of the postings and restarted in safe mode, downloaded Mizilla Firefox and since then everything has been fine. PS running Windows 7 Home Premium.

Interesting, I had the EXACT same symptoms as all of you, last night and when I first got on my computer this morning.

I opened up my Norton Internet Security and clicked on Support, then "Get Support" and it ran an auto fix which "successfully fixed 1 item" although it didn't tell me what that item was.  So I went to:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Norton Internet Security\NortonData\21.0.1.3\Definitions\IPSDefs

and sure enough, there was an additional folder, dated this morning and now my IE is fixed.

Hope this helps.  I'll post this on the other thread, as well.
