Yes, we should be and if you look at the prodcut announcemtn for 21.2 it is included in it - too bad I as well as others have recieved the engine download, but not the 2nd part of the update which I believe includes the Norton Toolbar add-on.

Hold tight and see if Norton says anything after I bug them!

Re: firefox 28 released

We shall see if the tool bar has been fixed with this new Firefox version.  Due to the issues of parts of identity safe not working after 2 to 4 hours and needing to restart firefox is the fix, could be the try to do a double update to Norton caused the problem   After updating Firefox, it started and all worked well for about 2 hours until the same issues cropped up.  No list of multiple logins and none of the norton buttons on the toolbar work.  Decided to try a Norton live update and what do you know, got 4 update files and a new patch which included toolbar changes adding triple dots which takes you to the a drop down with more suggested changes.  Since I had to close firefox to install the patch, got a few hours to see if any changes to the problems.

Have worked with a Senior Manager at Norton to fix the problem and he said he has gone as far as he can since the toolbar works with IE, it must be a Firefox issue and supposidely Norton is taling to Firefox about the problem  according  to the manager.  First he said the upcoming Norton version update might fix it and then the Firefox update would fix it.  Didn't do didly at first with the update and now that we have a modified toolbar, will see and report later if the patch fixes the problem.

Do NOT appreciate Norton announcing that the toolbar fix for 27.0.1 is fine and works for both 27 and 28 and ignores tellng people that a patch is needed thru a forced live update.  Also, according to the Norton Manager, I am not alone in these failures and then blaming Firefox with a you have to wait or just use IE which works fine.

Didn't buy Norton to use IE as I did that for 24 hours while testing for the Manager and it was worse than I remembered it being.  Will report back in a few hours before going to bed and hoping it will be a positive report but, we shall see?????

By the way, playing around with the substantially revised toolbar which was NOT mentioned by Tony  in his announcement that the toolbar was originally fine for FF 27 and 28; Not by a long shot; they have made substantial changes in the toolbar including the "floating" choice of multiple logins which was one of my significant problems has been replaced with a down arrow that when clicked show the multiple logins.  That may be the saving grace as well as an indication that Tony's announcement is NOT totally correct nor is the Tech Manager who helped me who said Norton was NOT working on a fix for the toolbar problems.  This is as substantial a change as the change for FF 27 vs FF 26

Really annoying to be told one thing by a company and then find out it was their error all along and that they are working on a fix which appears to be now on my computer.  Now very hopeful due to the simple add of a down arrow instead of logins floating on the screen.

Re: firefox 28 released

Hi David - if I am followng your correctly - the FF browser update for FF 27 and 28 was accomplished just prior to FF 27 being released.  The Patch you just did was the update for 21.2.0.38.  You first received the "engine" update (whihc most of u have received, and then you received the patch for the 21.2 update.  I for one and others have nto received that patch yet - but I have updated to FF 28 and the NTB works fine with it - without the Patch for 21.2.  I remain on 21.1.1.7.

<edit> David, just saw your edit - now I'm really looking forwrda to receiving part 2!

Yes, had to look at what the patch did and also have a new version toolbar 7.0.43 and yes, new version of N360 for 21.2  The Vault is Open button brings up a totally different window.  Should be better only issue so far is that the login listing is a bit touchy when moving the mouse.  Also the login window tht used to open when logging into Identity Safe is no more.  The added buttons from that are now part of the 3 dot menu.  So far so good. with everything still working.  Seemed like recently the 4 hour failure had been reduced at times to an hour or so.

Will report before shutting  down for the evening and may take awhile to be sure of full functionality as going out of town until Monday.  Will try to leave the computer on in hotel room so we can get a long time report but, for sure on Monday.  Another thing, Norton seems to be pushing safe search as they will tell you how to change all of your browser settings to safe search.  I've left the browser as I want it and can safe search thru the toolbar.  Next report very shor as need to shut down at last minute and pack laptop.  About 2 more hours and hope to have a positive but, can say for sure that Tony's statement that the toolbar was fine with the FF 27 update is FALSE or why a new toolbar the same day as the FF 28 release??

Re: firefox 28 released

Now has been about 3 1/2 hours and NO JOY.  The down arrow whcih when pressed should provide several different logins and did for awhile as well as the buttons on the tooltar are NOT WORKING.  Can't believe all these changes and no fix for this problem that won't seem to go away.  The safe search button does work but, not the page is secure, vault is open the share via facebook or the three dots just sit there as does the down arrow which should give me the list of logins.

Really is worse as before I could keep open the large login list that came up when I opened the vault but, no more.  Will see if closing and reopening FF brings things back but, must sent this first.  Will report if the features don't come back.  No edit means restarting FF fixes things for ???????

Am bummed!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel for you, David.

I noticed the same thing as soon as v21.2 was installed.

A little bit of knowledge is... well a little bit of knowledge.

Thanks for the feedback David (and @Krusty13  )- I've altered some Norton employees of what you have detailed - hopefully we'll get a response.

Update to my status.  Have been letting the laptop go to sleep after the failure occurs and strangly, when the computer wakes up everything works for anywhere from 1 to 4 hours and then no listing of alternate logins, none of the buttons on the toolbar do anything except the safe search button does do a safe search.  What is strange is that clicking any of the non=working buttons makes them change color just like when they are working but, nothing shows such as the logins or the boxes that are supposed to show.  So, the tool bar recognizes that I am clicking the buttons and the down arrow for the login list but, what is supposed to show simply doesn't .  As long as I don't need to change a login, the last login does show on an orange background and only need the others if I want to use a different login or close the bar or find another login or anything that happens with the boxes that should be opening.

Can't believe we did seem to improve with the revised toolbar but, still no joy in Firefox!!!!!!!!

Moving this back to the top as no responses from the Norton employeees as Tony requiested and, my Norton Manager has been quiet as well.  The issues persist and are really annoying to reopen Firefox several times a day to make Norton work???  Can't believe I am alone in having these issues and hope for help sometime soon????

Re: firefox 28 released

Thought I had a solution as yesterday I reloaded the full version and lo and behold, the toolbar worked fine for 7 full hours.  Restarted the computer today and back to the the same problems now after only 2 hours or so.  Am convinced it is a Norton issue and can't wait for a solution to the money we pay to use this program that simply won't work properly!!!!!

Re: firefox 28 released

FWIW, I did pull Norton's chain again yesterday seeking an update - but it is the weekend - hopefully a response soon.
