Firefox - NS (& N360) settings

Hi.

Since long, both former Norton 360 Premium and, now Norton Security shows the same flaw.

On one of my PCs, in Firefox, the Norton Settings shows:

Restart does not work - what to do?

(On other PCs: `Mozilla Firefox : Everything is OK´)

Hello

As a test, you could try turning off  Fast Startup.

Thanks.

Success always occurs in private and failure in full view. Windows 7 Pro 64 bit NSBU 22.17.0.183 Core Firmware 270 I E 11 Chrome latest one

I turned Fast Startup off long time ago.

Tried IE before - No remedy.

Re: Firefox - NS (& N360) settings

If you received the Win 10 Anniversary Update, it would have turned Fast Startup back on. Along with a lot of other settings you may have changed. I had to go through every setting to get things back to where I had them before AU.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

It looked the same before and after having turned Fast startup off. In this case this feature probably isn't the cause.

Did you set IE as your default browser in Win 10 as bjm_ suggested.

Re: Firefox - NS (& N360) settings

hi 00360:

the below links may help U out:

1. Compatibility of Norton Security Toolbar and Norton Identity Safe with Mozilla Firefox

Please note that Symantec has... "released a new version of the Norton Security Toolbar that is compatible with Mozilla Firefox versions 47, 48, and 49. ... also released a new version of Norton Identity Safe that is compatible with Mozilla Firefox versions 48 and above."

2. Try this standalone Norton Identity Safe 1.1.54 for Mozilla Firefox by DL-ENG-MAC-BFW.

NOTE: The said add-on has been marked as experimental by its developers.

Re: Firefox - NS (& N360) settings

Going back to the original post, those settings are not for the new FF extension. Those settings are accessed from the three dots on the Norton Toolbar in FF, but it opens the main ID Safe apps settings as if in IE or Chrome.

The settings available from the FF ID Safe extension are very sparse for now.

I seem to remember that, several months ago Norton/Symantec said, these FF problems should be solved August 2016(?).

What was said at the time is that Norton was working to get a completely new ID Safe extension, and trying to make it available by August 2016. They came very close, getting a Pre Release version out the first week of September. There were many speed bumps along the way from Mozilla and Microsoft. Window 10 Anniversary Update, and changes to the way Mozilla was going to handle add ons.

As this shows - FF `Status unavailable´ (IE = default browser and FF restarted)

Re: Firefox - NS (& N360) settings

This is just another disconnect between the old Toolbar version and the new FF extension. The settings page you show is not connected to the FF extension settings page. This has nothing to do with the operation of the new extension.

The status page you show just indicates the old settings page has no information from the new extension.
