Firewall forgetting our decisions

We get a pop-up window when we click a program that wants to use the internet, which is what we wanted to happen as that's the whole point of a firewall. However what we didn't want was every single time we use the application after our initial decision to 'allow' the application is to be asked over and over again each time the application is launched. No matter if we tick the 'remember these options for future' tick box along with 'allow' it still requests us to allow. This also happens when we want to access our NAS drive and is becoming extremely frustrating having to 'allow' every single web application each time we launch them. Is there a way to stop this happening each time? We're on Mac OS Sierra.

Re: Firewall forgetting our decisions

Hello IDEADesign I have asked for this to be moved to the Norton for MAC forum, you will get better exposure there.

If you haven't already add the items in question (programs/devices) to the exclusion listing in your Norton product. Under "Items to exclude from auto-protect, sonar, and download intelligence". Also disable "network drive scan" for your NAS. I am on Windows however you should have similar settings in your MAC product.

In your firewall under the "General Settings" tab open device trust and add your NAS there.

Cheers

Re: Firewall forgetting our decisions

It seems I don't have as many options as the windows version of Norton... Thank you for your time to try and help.

Re: Firewall forgetting our decisions

Thanks for the time to try and find a solution to this. I've followed the first link which I've completed. However, I couldn't do the second link again because I don't seem to have the same options or at least not in the same locations as the walkthrough. I'll have to monitor and see if the firewall stops asking me the same questions despite being told not to ask me again in future when allowing the application/connection.
