Firewall rules were automatically created for Windoes Explorer.

Hello. On security history, I noticed an entry that said "Firewall rules automatically created for Windows Exporer". Is there a problem with its firewall settings? Thanks!

Hi,

I doubt it. The program is aware of what's loaded on your system and when you need access to the Internet it allows it without you having to do anything. Without the smart firewall you would be required to make a decision about every packet coming or going. Please accept as fact that this is not something you want to do.

Hello, I understood that original poster ment rules had been created for Windows Explorer, and not for Internet Explorer. Should Windows Explorer get access to internet?

Windows Explorer seems to have its tentacles into every nook and cranny of Windows. So If there is a Windows Update that changes something to do with Explorer, the Firewall rules need to accept the new files.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
