Firmware 226

Hello Gayathri

Will using this 226 Firmware mean that we can safely go back to Norton Core DNS? Being physically handicapped, I can't get to my CORE to have to restart it until the weekends when my son can usually come by. I have been using my ISP  DNS with no issues except I went down to Good Score instead of Excellent that I had before.

Have a Good Night and

Thanks.

Re: Firmware 226

Hello Flo. I went back to Core secure DNS this morning after I saw the firmware update. No issues so far. Change your DNS and restart your Core with your app.

Cheers

Re: Firmware 226

Hello Soul

This morning CORE wouldn't let me sign into it. It kept saying my password was incorrect. I waited until I came downstairs before I even looked at it. It took forever before it accepted my password. As soon as I could, I switched back to the Core DNS. My score went back to the Excellent score range again. I do hope that it will work now without any issues.

The App also changed but there is no mention about a new App for Android or IOS.

Have a Good Night and

Thanks.

Re: Firmware 226

Morning. I noticed the Android app has indeed updated to version 1.28 just checking a minute ago. Core DNS hasn't presented any issues for me since changing back. Lets hope things take an even keel for a change.

Re: Firmware 226

Hello

I just tried getting to my vitamin company online that I always go to. Now I'm getting page can't be displayed. I hope it isn't this Core DNS thing again. I never had that site down before....

Thanks.

Re: Firmware 226

floplot I'm reading across the other threads and it appears Core DNS is stable. How is your Core performing for you?

Re: Firmware 226

Hello SoulAsylum

I agree that Firmware 226 has made an improvement in the stability of the CORE DNS system. I would infer that since the DNS is now using Level 3 that it supports what the other CORE DNS did as far as security. There is a description in the App about the CORE DNS compared to ISP DNS. The 3rd choice is 3rd party DNS such as Google and others. You cannot pick Google DNS any more. It's now all lumped together as third party DNS. This is all for Android cellphones.

My CORE seems to work ok,except  in My Norton Account. The Device section shows our 2 cellphones as offline. Our cellphones are always turned on. It shows 1 phone as being off for 3 days. Perhaps it's getting my son's phone confused with my hubby's  phone since they both have the same phone. My phone is always on.

Could it be that my phone shows as off when I am upstairs even though it is on? The same with my hubby's phone?

Have a Nice Day and

Thanks.

Re: Firmware 226

Flo, you phone as mine does may not appear as "active" on your account if its in sleep mode. Meaning not being actively used.

Tried using my core today and after a full reset, I was still on v223.

Re: Firmware 226

dmystic Give the Core another quick reset and double check after its rebooted about 10 minutes later. If it doesn't update by then allow it to stay up overnight. Also check your time zone setting in the app as well once its rebooted. Get the latest Core app from the applicable OS store as well if you have not updates in awhile.

Re: Firmware 226

It was up for about three hours. Then family complained they tried to stream transformers. I had to go back to google Wi-Fi. I might connected it back and leave it overnight when everyone goes to bed, but I was asking if anyone had results so I wouldn’t be wasting my time.

I replied to your other thread as well for a possible wifi solution.
