Fix Me Stick versus Norton

My sister saw the ad for the Fix Me Stick to1) remove virus/trojans at the boot level and 2) to speed up her Windows 10 computer, but I said Hold on! I'm sure Norton has something similar so let's ask them which of their products would accomplish the same. Don't need a stick but downloadable software will work.  Also, please let me know if this is not the forum for this question.

Hello Teasha. You can download Norton Power Eraser to a USB drive on an unaffected computer. Use the USB drive on the affected computer by booting it DISABLED from internet services and running a full scan. Please note: NPE is a seriously aggressive tool and MAY. flag items that are legitimate. Look at every identified process and make sure its not needed for Windows to function before removing them. We can always assist you here during and afterwards as well.

Norton 360 has boot time protection and utilities for Windows 10. 

For Boot time protection:

1/ Open device security

2/ Settings

3/ Antivirus

4/ Set Boot time protection "on"

For Utilities:


1/ Open Device security

2/ Performance

You're most welcome!! Let us know if this solved your issue for you. Please keep in mind that Norton also has virus removal services at your disposal. Installing antivirus AFTER having become infected isn't always the solution as most malware will block its install.
