"Flash Player Pro" virus or program

Hi,

am using Win8.1 on sony vaio.

My PC got infected with "Flash Player Pro" virus or program. (Reason : am not able to open google search. upon entering a search text and hit enter, I was prompted to install "flash player pro" virus. My browser is also hijacked whrn I tried to open sites.)

I uninstalled firefox, chrome, cleaned all browsers, rest to defaults.

Then, I installed NIS (Norton internet security) which I bought, licensed and even it cannot find after running several scans.

Can anyone help?

hi Mageshmss

Flash Player Pro can be a legitimate program from Adobe but it is not likely that you have purchased it.

It is also a virus that tries to make you believe it is a Flash Player update.

You will not want to fix this yourself so a helpful user has listed a number of sites you can visit to obtain help in removing this virus. A link to the tread for this list is below:

Re: "Flash Player Pro" virus or program

Hi,

Thanks for the inputs. It's definitely an unwanted program / virus, I can say.

So, Norton internet security cant get rid off this virus and I have to use another removal program? that's not what I expected,Duh!

Are these tools suggested on the other thread free or paid? Can someone be specific about which one of these to be used first? I don't want to try one by one .

or Should I format my HDD ?

am surprised that there's no specific approach available for this "Flash Player Pro" virus removal.

I installed malware antibytes, superantispyware and Spyhunter , but no use. They cant find this , but many websites suggested to use them, which didnt work for me.

What's more pain is, spyhunter, after full scan, it finally said, u have to purchase to fix/remove the infections, what a pain!

Re: "Flash Player Pro" virus or program

Thanks bjm, I didnt mean to offend anyone by my posts/replies.

let me ask you a different Q : does anyof the norton tools help removing this specific malware? paid or free? I was under the impression that NIS can remove this malware.

I hate DIY, hence if there's a paid software from Norton can do this, am glad to purchase and remove this virus rather DIY.

Thanks and apologies for any inconvinience

Re: "Flash Player Pro" virus or program

hi Mageshmss

No anti-virus program catches everything.

A number of people seem to recommend Bleeping Computer.

From what I gather the sites are a little like a forum where you post the problem you are having when an expert in virus removal will guide you through removing the problem. They will likely ask you a few questions and run a few scans and collect some logs then tell you what you can do to remove the virus.

They are free and all the experts give their time on a voluntary basis. I believe most if not all have studied and passed tests to be able to take part in giving advice and help.

Many people have said they are helpful and made it quite easy for you to remove the problem. Once you start with one expert stay with them and don't swap around to different sites and you should have no difficulties.
