force new Base before was scheduled

I have cause to wish a new Base Backup image to be created of my system drive ahead of schedule.  I thought changing the schedule to yesterday would do it (the OS has been offline for 5 days), but it created an Incremental anyway.

Must I start a new Job?

If you clear the history you can start another base backup.

Thank you very much, Deric!  I thought there might be simpler way I hadn't found.

Re: force new Base before was scheduled

Right clik on the icon in the system tray and select "Run or Manage Backup"

Right click the backup you want to run and select "Run Backup With Options"

Select "New Recovery Point Set"

OMG I love it!!!!

Thanks a million DaveH, I never saw that!

(The Right-Click also I see works to get there under Advanced|BackupJobs.  I've never ever allowed the systray icon to run; to avoid having it run as a startup item, I use email notifications to tell me what I want to know; I imagine that this might save me a bit of system resources--I'm very stingy w/startup items.)

Re: force new Base before was scheduled

You can also got to it though Tasks > Run or magage backups

I hate excessive startup items too, but I don't think your saving any resources by not loading the tray utility.

When the system boots and it "appears" like the icon takes a while to be ready I don't think it's the icon but really the ghost service starting and scanning the drives and backups.

But thats your choice and if it's working good for you without it then thats fine

Once every blue moon I get an error about "can't reconcile changes" because I did a defrag or made too many changes using another operating system.  Then I just force a new base image and the schedule continues with no problems.
