FRAUDULENT ADVERTISING BY NORTON

I recently received a window notification on my computer from Norton that said "Norton has detected that your computer is NOT connected to a secure wi-fi connection. I contacted Norton technical support and found out that the message was not accurate but a way of asking me whether I wanted to add additional software AT A COST to advise me when my computer is NOT connected to a secure wi-fi connection. This is fraudulent advertising at it's finest. BEWARE OF THIS SCAM BY NORTON.

Re: FRAUDULENT ADVERTISING BY NORTON

Hello!! Please post a screenshot of what you are seeing if you would be so kind. If you are not aware of how that is done here is how:

Windows - Using the built in snipping tool to capture a screenshot https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/13776/windows-use-snipping-tool-to-capture-screenshots

Posting a screen shot to the forums - https://community.norton.com/en/forums/how-post-image-forums-0

Re: FRAUDULENT ADVERTISING BY NORTON

Obviously someone is missing the point...the screen says "I am NOT connected to a secured wi-fi connection" when in fact that is BOGUS. I am connected to a secured connection but Norton is leading me to believe that I am not and wants me to decide to add additional services to my account at a COST. That is fraud.

For enhanced security, we recommend that you choose 'WPA2' as the encryption type for your network [..]
