GoldenFrog VYPR vpn

Hi,

I have the Golden Frog VYPRvpn program installed.  I haven't logged into the program in about 2-3 weeks due to the fact that Norton gave a pop-up warning about the program.  Sadly, I don't remember verbatim what the warning said but it did referred to the fact that very few members of the community use this program.  Also, I believe it warned about the security of the existing program. At the same time, Norton discovered a virus and quarantined it.

So, I'm concerned about restarting this VYPR program at this point.  I contacted their support and was told that what was detected by Norton could have been a false postive.  I like the idea behind this program as far as adding more security and privacy while on the internet but after the warning from Norton I'm still leery about running it again.

If anyone knows anything about Golden Frog VYPRvpn and the safety of the program, I welcome any helpful feedback about it.

Thank you very much.

Re: GoldenFrog VYPR vpn

I went into the Norton console and retrieved the info about the virus.  It stated:  00017492.tmp contained.  W32.Licum,  Risk: High,  Origin: Not available & very new.  Threat was removed and no further action needed.  The infected file was:  c:\programfiles(x86)\malwarebytes anti-malware\00017492.tmp.  Repaired.

Hope this extra bit of info helps.  This occurred at the same time as when I received the notice about the VYPRvpn program.

Thanks!

Re: GoldenFrog VYPR vpn

Hi Buoybells,

I am trying to reproduce the TWO issues you met: VyprVPN & MBAM

I. VyprVPN

1. I am using an old version of Norton Security 22.7.0.76; scanned the official download of VyprVPN setup file; got the following imgs:

(Everything is good; error loading the latest rating for VyprVPN at the time of responding your comments above(?))

The old NS did not flag anything during the install of VyprVPN.

Well, I kindly suggest that you uninstall yr current install of VyprVPN > restart > install the latest version of VyprVPN.

II. MBAM:

1. I checked out the original install of MBAM; and I found nothing that matched .TMP file extension.

Meantime, I just Yahoo!ed (Googled), and I got the same info:

Malwarebytes doesn't create such tmp files in the malwarebytes anti-malware directory.

(miekiemoes from MBAM Forum)

In conclusion:

there's nothing to worry about here

Re: GoldenFrog VYPR vpn

Hi,

Thank you very much for your feedback.  I found it very helpful and helped put my mind at ease as well.  Before I even purchased and installed the VYPR program,  I did check out reviews about their product, and they were all positive reviews.  My son runs the same program, and he suggested I might want to use it as well.

Again, thank you kindly for taking the time to look into this.  I appreciate it a great deal.

Sincerely,

Buoybells

And the following vid can help save up to 50% off if your friends want to give VyprVPN a go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qv1fW-AgpQQ

VyprVPN allows 3 Simultaneous Connections from 1 account, just BTW.

Thanks :)

UPDATE: The latest version of NS told me that "No risks have been resolved".
