Google Drive being blocked by Norton

Hi,

I am getting Dangerous Website Blocked messages when trying to download items from Google Drive.

The message I get is:

---

Dangerous Website Blocked

You attempted to access:

https :// doc-08-9c-docs. googleusercontent .com /docs / securesc / rp92pvkimjlalc6ct4s5hmq14du6q87h / u5cdam2ab1rjf59csfddridpc9po9k3c / 1473883200000 / 01189628893207203302 / 01189628893207203302/0B0MPjUv0UwWLWGlBdWpwblViTk0?e = download

This is a known dangerous website. It is recommended that you do NOT visit this site. The detailed report explains the security risks on this site.

For your protection, this web page has been blocked. Visit Symantec to learn more about phishing and internet security.

---

What's perplexing is that some items do download, and others trigger warnings like the one above.  This just started happening today, I've been using this Google Drive for months without issue.

Thank you.

Re: Google Drive being blocked by Norton

If the Google Download site is supposed to be "green" (as of 9/16/2016), why did I get the Same message Today? I even went to use the site anyway, and I got the file. Did the download Again and NO Warning.

How do I take a Screen Capture to a PDF? I can do a bmp, jpg, tif, gif, and many other Picture formats, but NOT PDF. Can put the bmp into a Zip file..... Anyway, the URL looks almost Exactly like the one that DCosgrove got.

First time I have gotten this Warning. As I said, second time downloading got NO warning.

Re: Google Drive being blocked by Norton

Hello markfr

Please provide the link for the file you want to get. I can get the Safe Web Team to evaluate it. If a file is very new, it will get the warning. Once there is enough community usage of the file, then the notice might get removed.

Thanks.

Re: Google Drive being blocked by Norton

Hi Floplot... Don't think the files would be on the Community Usage. I had just taken the two photos, on my phone, that day. Got synced to my Google Drive. NOT synching to desktop yet. I could just plug in with USB and copy, but, had just noticed they had shown up on Google, so just wanted to do a Quick download.

If those warnings come up, canceling a download, for a file that was JUST CREATED, by THAT USER, something is wrong. Instead of Canceling a download, there should be a question, to be sure the user wants to download this, if Anything.

Of course the Warning that I (and the other user) got, seems to say that the GOOGLE site ITSELF had Earned the Warning. NOT the file(s) that were/was being downloaded. That gives the FEAR that you have been, somehow, brought to a FAKE GOOGLE site. The warning said: "Dangerous Website Blocked"..... "This is a Known Dangerous Website".  ...  Not Dangerous File Blocked.

So, it must be Something ELSE besides Community Usage that is causing this.

Re: Google Drive being blocked by Norton

Log on just now and I get a Norton "Add Reply" message that says " I believe this comment solves this Forum Thread." !t certainly DOES not!  And to even log on, Norton sends me through a drill needing an authorization email that I have to wait for and and then respond to with a "Confirm Now" to even post this.  Lousy, lousy.  OK, to the issue with Google Drive.  Today I uploaded some pictures from the other day from my phone to my Google Drive account and then tried to download them to my desktop only to get Norton blocking them (well, me) as above.  Kept authorizing to "download anyway" and "enter site anyway"...and got a few (not all though!) downloaded.  Good thing my Norton EXPIRES in a few weeks. After using Norton since the mid 90s, I will finally QUIT and not renew.  Goodbye.  (They always say one thing and never do it or do the contrary.  It is a truly lousy non-customer oriented company.)

Hello

Please give me the link of the blocked site. I can submit it to Safe Web and see what the issue is. If the evaluation is wrong, it will be corrected.

Thanks.
