Re: Guest Network

Silly question and quite elementary, do they have the correct passcode for your guest network? And is that passcode different from your other network passcodes? Ensure that device hasn't been inadvertently or intentionally blocked on your other networks as well.

Re: Guest Network

Yes they had the correct passcode and the guest network passcode is different than the others.I tried with my wife also, heres how it went. She clicked on guest network-entered password,I then recieved alert via core-i allowed and nothing happened on the wifes end,no connection. She then went on our 5g network and then clicked on guest network and was allowed to connect. It seems when i allowed her via core nothing happened as i would think it would automatically allow the connection but she had to click on the guest network a second time to connect.I hope im explaining this ok?

Re: Guest Network

I haven't had anyone thus far on my guest network but it makes sense that a second click would be the actual connection since the first was a request. Hope that makes sense as well.

Edited: Had my roommate attempt connection to Core guest network. It asked her straight away for the network password which I gave her. Once she clicked "connect" I got a notification she had attempted connection and approved it. She immediately connected to the guest network without issue.

Re: Guest Network

Silly question. Are you on the Android or iOS app? Wondering whether there is something aloof between the two.

Re: Guest Network

The core app is on my Android but the person who was connecting to guest account is on ios

Re: Guest Network

The iOS app could be the issue since it hasn't been updated for quite some time now. Still at version 1.27 from what I see on the iTunes store. My room mate and I are BOTH on Android so there may lie the difference. If you have two Android devices do a test as I did then we can compare the results. Forward up if Android makes a difference.

Re: Guest Network

IOS app works fine.  My Core runs on my iPhone and I was able to connect on my Windows PC to the guest network with no problem.  I got an error on Edge that the device was not yet allowed, once I gave permission it connected.  One of the reason I think that IOS version is at 1.27 it because it had less problems than the Android app.

Re: Guest Network

So you guys are saying that when someone attempts to connect to your guest network, you get an alert and click allow and they are automatically connected to the network without clicking on the network again?

Re: Guest Network

Yes, that is how it works for me.

Re: Guest Network

Here is how it worked for me. I had another user find the Core Guest network on their phone, click connect and it asked for the guest password. I gave that password to the user and they clicked connect. I got a notification they wanted to join and approved it. They then connected without further intervention. I DO have my guest network set to alert me of an attempted connection for approval vice allowing anything to connect without a notification and approval. Hope that makes clearer sense.
