Has Severity Rating of a LiveUpdate Session been Changed?

Hello,

I'm running Norton Security 22.11.2.7 on a Windows Vista PC. Norton is the only internet security / virus / firewall I use on this PC.

For as long as I can remember, when I checked Security History, LiveUpdate Sessions were rated "Medium" severity. All the LiveUpdate Sessions had "Completed" Status. I  wondered why Norton's own update wasn't rated "Info", but full scans showed no problem, so I  thought that's the way it should be.

Something has changed this month, and change raises my personal "red flag". The last LiveUpdate Session rated "Medium" was on 2/13/18. Since then, every LiveUpdate Session has been "Info".

Has Norton changed the Severity Rating for all LiveUpdate Sessions? I'm concerned/wondering what's up?

Thanks for any info you can provide.

If you drill down on the entries marked "Medium" you will see that even though the LiveUpdate session is shown as completed, the updates themselves did not complete.  Hence, the "Medium" status.  "Info" is used to show that all updates installed correctly.

SendOfJive,

Thank you very much!  My detective work got me nowhere, your reply did the trick.

For some reason, "SONAR Updates x86" has "failed to complete" for quite some time. To my knowledge, I haven't changed any settings, but the problem is solved. I did turn off NS when I was looking for a file on an old external drive. Possibly the OFF/ON chased away some gremlins.

All "SONAR Updates x86" are now completed successfully. If I see another "medium", I know where to look.

Thanks again,

Marty

Re: Has Severity Rating of a LiveUpdate Session been Changed?

the general support of Norton is a BIG joke - they could find the bath room on a single floor building with only two rooms. the liveupdate issue have existed for month now 2018 and there has not been one release directed toward addressing the error - my firewall is still down, the 'restart message' will not go away and al i get are six to seven tech level 1 and 2 staff members that can only unload, reload, unload and reload. OMG .104 level software is a piece of 'sh*t'.
