HDMP files consume all disk space on drive C:

Problem statement:

Multiple "memory.hdmp" files  are created in a Norton folder in rapid succession that eventually fills disk drive C:.

Folder used:

C:\ProgramData\Norton\{0C55C096-0F1D-4F28-AAA2-85EF591126E7}\N360_22.5.2.15\ErrMgmt\Queue\Incoming\SQ_{4082872B-1193-42C6-9D13-FBCA9E9BCC1A}

OS:

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit Build 10586.589

Memory:

8.00 GB

Thank you for addressing this problem.

Kind regards,

Steve T.

Re: HDMP files consume all disk space on drive C:

Hi, Steve. They are uncompressed memory dump files, normally listing system errors etc.

Assuming all else is ok and things are as they should be, it's safe to delete them.

If you don't have CCleaner, it's worth downloading to clean files from your computer.  https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download

I use the free version, so I would suggest downloading that, and sticking to the default settings to start with.

I'd also suggest running through the settings to familiarise yourself, and to leave the registry cleaning section alone !

It will help free up space on your disk.
