Please clarify "activate a replacement product key"?
Do you mean ...new subscription key"
Note: new subscription key, starts new subscription term.

Hello d10e. The only way I would envision is if you have, with permissions, remote access to the physical machine via something like TeamViewer. And the login has to be under an adminstrative account on the machine as well. You may also want to have access to the machine owners Norton account with their permission to complete the activation.

This was the method that I used. Go to https://my.norton.com/home/index and sign in. In the device security box click “Review Devices”
All the devices that you have licensed are shown as a series of square white boxes each named with the manufacturers designation, unless you have previously renamed them. (To do this click on the three small dots in the bottom right corner of the box and click “Rename Device” personally I just added the name of the main user after the existing name.)
Select one of the devices and click in the white background of the devices box.
The screen that opens has the name of the device and near the bottom has the number of days remaining on the existing subscription. Under that in blue you will see “Enter A Different Key”
Click that and a box appears with a space to enter your new Product Key. Carefully enter and double check the 25 character key and then click “Next”
Assuming that the selected device is currently running, the new license will be activated on that device and the number of days remaining will show in the box.
If the selected device is not running it will update shortly after being started.
Please note that any days not yet used on the old licence are NOT added to the new license so don’t activate your new license too soon.
Repeat for each of the devices that you have licensed.
Hope that this helps somebody, I find the Norton website quite confusing personally.
