How can I add a Norton Password Generator shortcut to my desktop?

Hi,

I've just installed Norton 360 Premium (3-Device, 12-Month) [Digital Download] on my Windows 10 PC. I've searched for instructions on adding a desktop shortcut, which aren't there; is there anyway I can add a desktop shortcut for just the generator?

Yes there is a way.

Go to the password generator and double click. A new window will open in your browser.

Copy the web address in the address bar.

Right click on the desktop and create a new shortcut.

Paste the contents of the clipboard into the field and then name the shortcut.

Voila!

Thanks xjoex,

It worked - not exactly as described, but it worked a treat, thanks again.

Can I push my luck and ask if there's a way to dress up the shortcut with a suitable icon?

Oh bugger!

It didn't work after all - all I did was create a shortcut that takes me to the desktop file not Password Generator.

Paste and Paste shortcut are both greyed out.
