How can I keep my kids from deleting norton family on their phones?

Hi every one!

So, the title tells it all, how can I prevent them from deleting the app from their android devices?

My daughter came back from their mom's telling me that she had deleted the app and that it didn't ask for a password. So I installed it again and removed it and it didn't prompt me with a password.

There has to be a way to prevent that. But what is it?

The phone is a samsung J3 2017. It uses android 7 nougat.

Thanks for your help!

Re: How can I keep my kids from deleting norton family on their phones?

Hi @Podosoroko,

Welcome to Norton Community!

Device Administrator need to be enabled in child device during setup to avoid child from uninstalling the app. On activating device administrator, app can be uninstalled only on providing parent's credentials.

Please follow the below steps to activate device administrator if it is missed during setup

Open Device Settings->Security->Device Administrator->Enable for Norton Family.

Kindly let us know if issue still exists.

Thanks,

Hi!

thanks for your response!

Ifollowed your procedure but Norton family was already enabled as device administrator.

When I ask the device to uninstall norton family, this app opens a page saying that device manager is enebled. I now got two choices: "cancel" or "deactivate and uninstall".

No password being asked for, it's very easy  to uninstall it.

Hi @Podosoroko,

Thanks for the update.

Please make sure the following setting is enabled in child device

Settings >  Advanced Settings > Accessibility > Norton Family Accessibility Service  > ENABLE for Norton Family

If issue still exists, kindly share debug logs to investigate

Steps to take debug logs:

  1. Open Norton Family app->Tap on profile picture in top left corner
  2. Select the last option ‘Contact Us’ from the menu
  3. Enable Debug logs
  4. Try to uninstall the app->Select 'Cancel' instead of 'deactivate and uninstall'
  5. Open Norton Family app->Navigate to 'Contact Us'->Tap on 'Send Email'->Select an email client app(e.g. Gmail)
  6. Enter my email address(You can find my email address under my profile) in the 'To' field (logs will be auto-attached) and send it.

Thanks,

Devi AK

Hi DEvi AK!

Thanks for your respond. I'm sorry I haven'tcontinued this conversation. I just haven't had time to go on with the procedure again. I've been very occupied with my work and my daughter spends  most of her time at her mom's.

I wil try to sen dthe debug logs from my son's tablet this afternoon.

Thanks again!
