How do you get Norton to ignore a file even if it's on the Firewall Program Control

Hello,

I downloaded a program and did a lot of research on it prior to the download to make sure it was safe. When I download it, it gets erased by Norton. I emailed the company of the software and they said the program is safe and many have used it with no problem.

So I turned off the Norton's firewall and Auto-Protect, downloaded the file and added the file to the Firewall's Program Control and set its Access to Allow. After clicking apply, I notice the program's trust is set to poor. I turn on the Firewall and the Auto-Protect and run the program. When I do, a high risk is found and deleted. I find that the high risk was the program I set to be ignored.

This is all happening on Norton Internet Security.

How can I get this program to not be checked at all no matter what the conditions of it are?

Thanks.
