how to prevent Norton from removing PCCleaner.exe ?

Hi,  I have a licensed PC Cleaner tool from  Smart PC Solutions, Inc..

With the latest version of Norton Internet Security, that exe is identified as a malicious one just because is named PCCleaner.

I tried a few setups in Norton and I was able to install it back and it worked for some time until I think a new Norton auto-upgrade moved some of my settings to default again because today when i try to launch it, I got a message from Norton that it removed the pc cleaner object.

Please let me know what are the settings that I have to make to ensure that Norton does not uninstall this particular .exe. any longer.

I've pulled PC Cleaner tool from Smart PC Solutions, Inc and found > http://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp

hxxp://smartpctools. com/files/smartpcsetup.exe
Downloaded File smartpcsetup.exe Threat name: PUA.Gen.3

VirusTotal report for smartpcsetup <here>
VirusTotal report for hxxp://smartpctools. com/  <here>

If you want to go against Norton.... try Exclude ~ PUA.Gen.3 by Signature.

For second opinion choose File and / or Search hash at VirusTotal or upload file to VirSCAN and/or Jotti and/or submit to Symantec for review analysis > see > How to report false positives

Thank you BJM.  If i understand correctly the executable from Smart PC Solution contains code that is itself perceived as virus, hence there is some risk using it.

If you review VirusTotal report for smartpcsetup <here>

You'll see Symantec shows green check and yet on my machine Norton thru a PUA flag.
So, I posted how you can second opinion for yourself  and how you can submit to Symantec for review analysis > see > How to report false positives
I also posted VirusTotal report for hxxp://smartpctools. com/  <here>

I also posted > If you want to go against Norton.... try Exclude ~ PUA.Gen.3 by Signature. <info here>
There is a question about PUA.Gen.3 as a generic detection for many individual but varied Potentially Unwanted Applications for which specific definitions have not been created.  The PUA may be bundle-ware that has an opt out during the install or ...?.   Sorry, I would submit to Symantec for review analysis.  Usually, one+ business day turn around.  Or, find an alternate.
WOT dings smartpctools.  And gizmo's does not recommend smartpctools.  http://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-tune-up-program-for-computer

I would listen to bjm_.  I'm not as savvy as he is, but I used those tools a while back and they were nothing but trouble for me.  It's tempting to try some tool that 'promises the world' ... I've been a sucker for them many times ... kind of like women.  [Did I say that?]  Now, I always do some solid detective work to find reviews beforehand.  I think Norton did you a favor on this one.  - Art
