how to restore from backup

Just purchased Norton Security premium. Installed on my desktop couple days ago.  I did run Backup. Now I get to use this feature (I hope).

Just started the desktop and it will not boot.  It says a boot file is missing. The trouble shooting options just run me in a circle telling me I can restore from a backup but I never get presented with the option of running Norton to restore the system.

How do I run Norton so I can restore the PC from the backup I created 2 days ago with Norton Security?

Re: how to restore from backup

Norton backup is not an operating system backup. It only backs up documents, photos, videos and any other files you set up to be backed up.

You will need to look into Windows recovery options. Try to get a DVD or Flash drive with a Windows installation image. Then run the installation routine and choose the repair options.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Re: how to restore from backup

Norton backup only creates a backup of files & folders, it does not create a system image.
Macrium Reflect is my favourite imaging software & has an option to repair the boot menu.

Once you’re up & running again I’d suggest that you try Macrium out
