Have you tried to exclude the files by using the Items to exclude from scans?  I would only use that option if you were positive the .exe files were safe!

Re: How to stop Norton remove exe file?

@oemnorton

The following is from memory, so it is only as correct as my memory is.

SONAR is real-time protection that detects potentially malicious applications when they run. It provides "zero-day" protection because it detects threats before traditional virus and spyware detection definitions have been created to address the threats.

Auto-Protect is the first line of defense against threats by providing real-time protection for your computer. Whenever you access, copy, save, move, open or close a file, Auto-Protect scans the file to ensure that a threat has not attached itself.

Download Intelligence Detection is used to automatically scan any download and block/remove it if it is determined to be a threat.

Items to exclude from scans:
These are items that are already on your PC and would be excluded from scans (Full System, Custom scans - etc.)

Basically Exclude from Auto-Protect, SONAR and Download Intelligence Detection is real time scanning - running all the time.

Items to exclude from scans is for folders/files etc. already on your system - those not accessed as is referenced in Auto-Protect above.

I'm sure others may have more to add, so stay tuned.

Re: How to stop Norton remove exe file?

Not meaning to insult you, but are you selecting APPLY after entering the file exception?

If you are excluding the Folder, are you also selecting Include Sub-folders.

If I may ask, what are these.exe files?

I'm hoping for more assistance from others here.

Re: How to stop Norton remove exe file?

I only select Add File option, and cannot confirm on whether I selected Apply or not, but when I check setting, those ABC.exe files are already added into the listings, so I assume that Apply button was already selected. Those ABC.exe files are complied scripting file. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you very much for any suggestions (^v^)

Re: How to stop Norton remove exe file?

Are the files being removed, or just blocked? And are you sure it is Norton doing this?

How are these script files being accessed? Are they called from another program or service? Have you created them yourself?

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
