How to stop Norton Utilities from changing my monitor brightness?

When I start certain programs (including Norton Utilities), it turns up my monitor brightness. I tracked the problem to Norton Utilities. I don't want the brightness turned up. It gives me a headache. How do I set NU to not do this? Thank you.

You can go into the power plan NUP creates and set the brightness there, but you'll probably need to re-enable Power Optimizer.

I think I may have found the answer- In NU, under "real time boost" there's an option for "power optimizer". I noticed when I turned this off, my monitor went back to its normal setting, so I'm hoping that's it.
