Replying to my own post here, with the full story: Every time I turned on my computer, I received a warning from Norton of a threat, Suspicious.Cloud.9, with the notation "removal failed," and no instructions about what to do. BUT, on opening my Norton 360 product, it said, "Computer Protected." Then, next time I turned on the computer, SAME THING. So I hunted around and got a set of instructions: basically, running LiveUpdate; restoring the questionable file from Quarantine; and then running a full scan. The problem? The file was NOT in quarantine, it was in "Unresolved Risks." Yet it said the risk level was HIGH. I'm paying a lot of money for Norton 360! If there is something with a high risk level, isn't that WHY Norton exists and WHY I am paying so much money for it--for them to remove it? Anyway, the only alternative that I could see was to EXCLUDE the file and then run the full system scan. So I did that. BUT I have no idea what it means to exclude a file. It seems like I might be EXCLUDING it from ever being scanned. So I STILL might be at risk! What goes on here?
Please confirm Norton product + version... eg: N360 v188.8.131.52
Please advise operating system...eg: W7
Windows 10 (The problem started when I was still on Windows 7)
