I see server error when I switch to Secure VPN section on my Norton 360 mobile app

Hi Community Souls

I'm using Norton 360 on my Android 12 phone.

When looking at the VPN section, I immediately get an error message at the foot of the page stating "Server Error! Please try again later".

I am using Auto VPN and this is currently "OFF" as I am using a secure private WiFi connection - OK, this is good as VPN is set to Auto VPN, and has chosen to be inactive.

Is the above error the result of the fact that Audo VPN has selected "OFF" as its state, or is this something else?

If this is as a result of the Auto VPN being "OFF", then why that type of error, it's not a good message.

Given that I do not have the Android application "Norton Secure VPN : Wi-Fi Proxy" installed, does this make a difference?
Is this application a diferent function, and not necessarily needed?

Are the two "VPN" flavours related, do I have to have both installed, or can the lack of the Android application "Norton Secure VPN : Wi-Fi Proxy" be OK and the Norton 360 VPN work OK in its own right?

Do I have to have both!

Thanks

Try going into Android Settings - Apps. Scroll to the 360 app and clear the app cache and app Data. Restart the device. This will reset your 360 to a trial version. To get the full version back, open the 360 app, then tap Sign In to log into your Norton Account. Enter your Norton Account information and you should have the full version again.

Then test to see if things work properly.

You should only have one Norton VPN installed. If you use Norton 360 Android installed, you already have a VPN feature and you should not install the standalone Norton Secure VPN app. If you have the second app installed, you should uninstall the standalone VPN.

Has this just started happening with your 360's VPN? And does it happen all the time?

Do you have a working internet connection when this happens? Wifi or Cell data

Hi Peterweb, Thanks for the reply. I have uninstalled the standalone VPN in favour of the Norton 360 version, uses with my subscription. The error message appears every time I go in to VPN and as far as I can tell, only when VPN is OFF because it's set to Auto. It's always been like that. It's not a new issue. As for a working Internet connection, yes, always. Even on cellular, although VPN is always AUTO on cellular as apparently, it's not needed because it's already a secure connection. Perhaps that's the issue here, both my WiFi and cellular are secure, but and the error occurs. I've yet to find an insecure connection to test this out. Maybe it won't happen then...? Thanks

Thank you! That instruction resolved the issue. I now have control back, without the error.
