Re: I started full system scan but.....

Hi ahappy,

Not to worry about this. This is normal. I will tell you what Background task is:

Real-time tasks are always necessary, such as the scanning performed by Auto-Protect, SONAR, the Firewall, and Intrusion Prevention. These real-time tasks are heavily optimized using a variety of techniques. Other tasks and features, such as Norton Insight, Norton Community Watch, Automatic LiveUpdate, and broader virus and spyware scans, do not need to run all the time. These tasks are essential to security, but carry a performance impact. The Norton 2009 Products moved all of these tasks to the background, and runs them when the computer is not actively being used. This approach ensures the computer is protected at all times, while leaving the computer's resources available for interactive tasks.

Here Norton is running Scan in the background so that it uses less resources and rest of them will be available for Interactive tasks.

ahappy be happy, Norton provides you full protection

Re: I started full system scan but.....

Hi Vineeth,

same jobs are running together.

I agree with you that real time tasks must do their job. Maybe,NIS09  can perceive what's happenning in real time:)

Thank you,

I disagree with this.  Just because it says "Idle" next to it, does not mean it will Run when the computer is Idle.  And all the other Background Tasks are the same; they do Run whenever it suits N.I.S. - and not when it suits you sometimes.
