I want to protect my identity not put my ifo on the websites.

Have had Norton opt me out of third party privacy and they said that one would not honor the opt out because they wanted my Driver license. Isn't that how identity theft gets started? I want to protect my identity not put my ifo on the websites. To me that is very contradictory.

This does sound counter intuitive. But it is not Norton that sets the policy of a company or website for removing your information.

You need to go directly to that website's support directly and see if there are other options available. And if they still insist on a driver's license, you have to decide if your privacy on that website is worth the risk of passing that information along.  I personally would not pass that info to anyone.

I also would never give my driver's license to a company that collects data as it's main function of business.  The downside is high and the benefit is small. The fact that they have other info about you posted on the internet is enough to drive me away...pun intended.

As for myself I have Privacy Monitor also as does everyone else who has Norton 360 but I just ignore the info that Norton has collected about the sites since if you succeed in removing that info from a particular website it will probably repopulate elsewhere.
