Re: iantivirus - appversion

If you sort by Virus Type in the virus info window, you'll see the Mac Viruses listed first.  Since there are a lot more non-Mac ones, it's a little hard to notice them otherwise.  We'll change the default sort order in a future version.

Regarding email attachments, until the attachment is saved to disk it can't be scanned by iAntiVirus (it is not a simple matter to scan a mail database, and in many cases the attachment isn't downloaded until a save is requested anyway).

Scan performance can vary depending on what is being scanned.  Compressed files can take a little longer, but that's a trade-off for being more secure.  Can you elaborate some on what you are scanning (size and number of files on the disk), and how long it's taking?

Thanks,

Lee

Re: iantivirus - appversion

I don't think the home scan speed sounds bad, are you contrasting this against some other scanner?  By "Program" did you mean "System"?  That can take considerably longer, it's your entire boot drive.  I don't think 15 minutes is unreasonable there, but again it depends on the number of files and amount of disk space they use.

Re: iantivirus - appversion

Hi Lee,

other Malwarescanner like BitDefender are faster, it scanned only change File after an first Fullscan and load Malware Defs every Day. It would be great when Norton here change something, maybe the Def. loads - every Week -.

Re: iantivirus - appversion

That's currently undecided.  I will post something when I know more.
