ID Safe in Firefox

Hi, In Product Announcement Updates, there's a post for an update to Norton Identity Safe 2.0.65. In the list of feature changes, the very first in the list is: * Vault Login List available in Norton Toolbar How? At the 3 dots like it used to be in the NTB? Because here, Win10, Firefox 50.1.0, Add-on 2.0.65, these 3 dots in the NTB do nothing, they don't respond when clicking on them, haven't for a very, very long time. Have tried logging in and out of ID Safe inside NIS to no avail, also logging in and out of ID Safe in the Add-on to no avail. Additional question: Why does the new Add-on have a user key in their Vault pswd in a browser tab? Doesn't this defeat the purpose of ID Safe to not have to do this, manually key in pswd's inside the browser? Will they be changing/correcting this? Thank you.

Re: ID Safe in Firefox

Good catch on the product announcement. I'll notify Norton to amend the announcement to show that you see the list when you click on the Norton Identity Safe Icon on the FF address bar.

As for entering the password into a browser tab. If you look at the address bar for the login page, the URL looks like     moz-extension://xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/content/ui/vault-unlock.   Many programs and apps use browser based pages for their functions. It appears Norton chose to use this technique rather than popping up another dialog box.

I would not say this defeats the purpose of ID Safe. You always had to enter the password that was then sent to Norton servers. This just changes the way this is done.

Thanks, good to know that wasn't supposed to be part of the update and that there isn't an issue. Yes, I see the address now, didn't notice this before, and agree with your comment, thanks.
