ID Safe & MS Edge

Will ID Safe ever work with MS Edge?

Re: ID Safe & MS Edge

Ask Microsoft. They are the ones that are controlling the addons/extensions for Edge. Once they allow Norton, it should not be long before we see something.

EDIT

The latest information from Norton on Edge support.

Question: Is Microsoft Edge compatible with Norton Identity Safe?

Answer: Microsoft does not yet allow Norton and many other companies to provide extensions for the Edge browser. Norton is committed to supporting Edge, and in our labs we have new versions of our ID Safe and Norton Security extensions working with Edge. However, Microsoft does not yet allow broad support for developers to publish and maintain Edge extensions. As soon as Microsoft provides such support, we will be able to move forward in releasing Norton extensions for Edge.

Question: I saw that Microsoft released extension support on Edge with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. Where are Norton’s extensions?

Answer: Microsoft partnered with a small group of developers to release extensions for Edge with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. Microsoft’s decision to limit Edge extension partners is in no way reflective of Norton’s commitment or ability to develop extensions for Edge. At Norton, we are a strong believer in customer choice and are committed to supporting customers on their browser of choice. This includes Microsoft Edge, if and when Microsoft allows us to release our extensions. If you want to advocate for Norton support on Edge, please voice your opinion to Microsoft here: https://wpdev.uservoice.com/forums/257854-microsoft-edge-developer/suggestions/15241830-at-least-allow-norton-extensions

Can you be a little more specific? This thread from last year was asking for ID Safe to work with the Edge browser.

Norton has released the ID Safe extension for Edge, as long as you have the Windows 10 Creators's Update installed. See the announcement here

Hello to all users,

I want only safe search ,I do not need the Norton toolbar,

Thank you

Re: ID Safe & MS Edge

I have the lastest version of  Windows 10 Creator.  I am able to load the Identity safe and open the vault.  After going to one website, the vault closes.  Is this ever going to be fixed?

Re: ID Safe & MS Edge

If you are using Edge or Fire Fox browser, the ID Safe will close when you close the browser.  Are you closing the browser after gong to he first website?

Re: ID Safe & MS Edge

No, I have tried for over a day and the issue still exist.  Five minutes is about how soon it closes after going to the first website.  Please advise.

Re: ID Safe & MS Edge

Just curious, do you by chance have Edge saving your passwords as well as ID Safe?

Hopefully someone with more experience using Edge than I have will have a suggestion.

Re: ID Safe & MS Edge

I don't allow any other software to safe passwords.  Thanks for the input.

Re: ID Safe & MS Edge

Digging deeper, do you still or have you ever had the Stand Alone Identity Safe installed?  Look in Programs and Features and see if there is a Norton Identity Safe entry in addition to your Norton Product.

BTW, which Norton Product are you running?

Re: ID Safe & MS Edge

I have disabled the Credential Manager, and deleted the passwords that I didn't even know were there.  I don't have a Stand Alone Identity Safe installed.  I am using Version 22.10.0.85.  Hopefully some of this will help.

Re: ID Safe & MS Edge

So far, the suggestions have not helped.  Does Norton or Microsoft  need to fix this?  Please advise.
