Identity Safe - Can't sign in from Norton Tool Bar

Just downloaded latest Norton 365 update. When I click on "Vault" tab on Norton toolbar, I get a screen saying "Get Started". It indicates "To access your vault, sign in to your account......." When I try this, I get a sign in screen that is auto-filled with my ID (email addr) and a blank "fill-in field" for PW. When I attempt to enter PW, the screen freezes. Using Chrome browser (up to date) on a Windows 10 - Home machine (up to date). I've searched this forum and other sites for help, but can't find any. I've uninstalled Norton and re-installed and that doesn't work. Any ideas? Thanks.

Next run live updates until no other updates are available. Reboot and recheck for this issue.

Hi Norton Fighter - Thanks for the prompt reply. I use Identity safe quite often for PW mgmt. Be glad when they return to local PW control. I tried your suggestion and followed everything as described. Even did it again to make sure, but I still have the same problems. Again, thank you!

Hi Gator429,

Click on the Norton Identity Safe Icon (upper right corner) and select Extensions.  Verify the Norton extensions are enabled.

If no joy, try a long shot.  Log out of your Norton Account on the main page of your Norton Product (upper right hand corner)  - left click "Singed in as" and sign out.  Once signed out, sign back in and then try to open your Vault.

Good luck with that. Not going to happen despite all the complaints/comments made here in the forums over the last couple of years.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Hi Yank! Had already done the first step you suggested. All extensions enabled. Can't do second suggestion. Can't log out because I'm not logged in. Get same results when I try to log in on main page of Norton Product as I do trying to log in via Norton Toolbar in browser. Very frustrating. Fortunately, I kept a physical list of my most important PWs, but for others I have to click "Forgot Password" to retrieve it (hundreds of sites)!! I'm going to to try uninstall/re-install Norton again (tho' it didn't work last time). I appreciate your reply. Thanks a bunch!

Hi SoulAsylum - Tried that previously without luck. Was going to try again, but noticed a lot of "XAR" files showing up on desktop. These have something to do with MS Excel "auto-recovery" files. Don't know why they were showing up, as have not had power outages or unexpected shutdowns of Excel. Anyway, I removed/replaced Office 365 and Identify Safe is now working! Don't understand how XAR files could affect Identity safe, but I'm happy that problem is "gone"!! Thanks for all your help. Trust you and yours will have a prosperous New Year!
