Identity Safe insecure?!

I use Norton Identity Safe as part of the Norton 360 suite and have done so on Windows platforms for some time now. Having recently purchased an Android tablet I converted my ID Safe to cloud format so that it can be shared by both platforms. To my horror notes that need the IDSafe password re-enetered to be viewed on the Windows platform are clearly visible on the Android version. Why is this?!!

Re: Identity Safe insecure?!

Hi Confused999,

Closest I can come to duplicating your situation is on my Moto X Gen 2 phone running Android 5.1.  My Note (I only have one- done as  a test for your post) is also displayed without a password - it appears opened when I got to that note.  My PC (NSBU 22.5 on Win 7) has an option on each Note page for Require Vault password.  I can not find that anywhere on the Android version, although I must be signed into my Vault prior to being able to go to Notes.

Sorry not much help, but at least mine is acting the same way displaying the note info prior to opening it.

Re: Identity Safe insecure?!

Thanks for verifying my concern Yank. All I need now is for someone from Symantec to pick this up as a bug report.

Re: Identity Safe insecure?!

When PC products are ported to mobile devices there are often(always) compromises that are encountered due to resource and memory constraints on mobile devices. So it is not a bug, but by design.

This might be a good suggestion for the Product Suggestions board https://community.norton.com/forums/product-suggestions

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
