identity vault not updating passwords within norton tool bar

I have been using identity safe for 7 years on my desktop and 5 years on my laptop. Never any problems until about a month ago. Using windows 7 home premium. Called tech support first person really tried to help and thought it was fixed worked on the first password then he logged out and it quit again. Second tech 10 to 15 seconds after I logged her into my laptop I would lose internet connection. Disconnect and get internet back happened twice she told me when I fixed my internet call back. Hung up and called right back only to be told by a third tech after 5 minutes. just delete the old login and create a new one with the new password.

@paul917966 Could you please verify what your install version is? Click on "about". You may also click on 'Get Support on the left to attempt a automatic scan and fix. I would suggest doing the fix as a first attempt at a solution.

Version is 22.9.1.12. Tried the scan and fix but everything was up to date.

Hi paul917966,

As was reported by John Taylor 1990 in the other thread you responded to in regards to this same problem the solution for him appeared to be the uninstall and reinstall:  https://community.norton.com/en/comment/7404411#comment-7404411

Since the  Get Support suggested by Soul Asylum did not fix your problem, I would recommend you run the Norton Remove and Reinstall Tool  Be sure to read the Before you begin in that link.

Ok, after several hours and 6 or 7 attempts all I kept getting was error messages finally it let me manually download the Norton 360 program. Did not fix the problem. Have always used Norton products and never had any problems until now. Did use McAfee for one year a long time ago on another computer but it was free for that year. Now I have 20 days to with renew with Norton Security Deluxe or go to a different Security Suite.

Also I did have to run Norton Eraser after the first 2 attempts.

I have been working on this problem since Friday everyday on both computers. Finally got ahold of a senior support rep. about an hour ago. Told her I was not fast at typing so I copied and pasted the opening of this thread so she would know what I have been through also let her know what I have been told and tried here. She said ok ask if I would log her in to look at. After she logged in she pulled up logins and ask me to show her what the problem is. So I tried a couple logins then a couple more did about a dozen. Everyone worked good password changed every time. Ever have one of those moments you just wanted to crawl under a rock and feel like an @ss. That was me awhile ago. Even with all the trouble I had on my laptop I still did a uninstall and reinstall went better but still took several tries and could not get passwords to change right until I got her logged into my computer and then it worked right away. so I don't think she could have done any thing. so thanks for the help here now I'm go back to hide under a rock. paul917966
