Ignoring newly powered hard drive

I have just been converted from Bullguard anti virus to Norton 360. I have a hard drive on a timer to run a backup (not Norton), but when the drive activates Norton stops everything and asks if I want to scan it. How can I get Norton to ignore the drive activating and from stopping my processes?

Step by step guiding you:

Open Settings.

Then Open Antivirus:

Here you will find Removable Media Scan, turn it OFF.

All set.

just my 2 cents here

i would let or allow norton to scan it

not sure the exact message your seeing, but do think after which you could set it to be excluded

It is unattended, how do I exclude it? As explained I am new to Norton.
